In the following article, we shall see how the days are added in this calculator with an example. You will also learn how to use the advanced features to include or exclude certain days when you add days to date in this calculator.

The simplest function of this calculator is to count the number of days between two dates. Let's consider a simple example. Say we want to count the days from 1^st January 2024 to 31^st December 2024. This is how you do it in our day addition calculator:

1. Click on the field from and select the date you want to start the count from. We will select 1^st January 2024.

2. Click on the field to and select the end date. We will choose 31^st December 2024.

3. Instantly, you will notice that the calculator added the days between these two dates and displayed the result in the field time between. We will see our answer is 365 days.

But wait❗Isn't 2024 a leap year? So why does it say the number of days from 1^st January 2024 to 31^st December 2024 is only 365 days? Shouldn't it be 366 days?

This is because our add days calculator does not include the end date in the calculation by default. Essentially, it answered the question, "How many days should I live through from January 1^st to arrive on 31^st December?" And the answer is 365 days because 31^st December would be 366^th day.

But what if you need to include the end date for some reason? That's where our advanced mode comes in, which we will discuss in the next section.😉

The advanced mode of our calculator allows for versatile use of this already powerful tool. It offers three features:

1. Include end date: It is set to no by default. But should you need to include the end date in your calculation, select yes. This will give the result 366 days to our example in the previous section. (Note that selecting yes here will affect all other results in the calculator.)

2. Count working time: This feature of the add days calculator will allow you to count the number of business days or working days between the two selected dates by excluding all weekends in between. The default setting is no. Selecting yes to our example tells us that there are 261 working days between January 1^st and 31^st December.

3. Include/exclude some weekdays: This feature lets you choose whether you wish to include or exclude certain weekdays from your calculation. The default setting is no. The other two options are:

   1. Include: You can select which specific weekdays will be included in the calculation. Continuing with our example, selecting yes to Mondays and leaving every other weekday option as no will show us that there are 53 Mondays between January 1^st and 31^st December. The result is displayed in the field custom time.

   2. Exclude: You can select which specific weekdays are to be excluded from the calculation. Continuing with our example, selecting yes to Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays while leaving other weekday options as no will show us that there are 209 days between January 1^st and 31^st December, excluding Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Including August 31^st, there are 92 days from June 1^st to August 31^st. To find this answer, follow these steps:

1. Add the number of days in June and July: 30 + 31 = 61 days.

2. Including August 31^st, there are 31 days in August. Adding this to the sum, we get 61 + 31 = 92 days.

There are 104 weekend days in 2024. Here is how you can quickly count it:

1. There are 52 weeks in a year. So multiply this by 2 to get 52 × 2 = 104 days.

2. Check if any weekend days are "overflowing" out of the calculated days: There are none! So, total weekend days in 2024 = 104 days.
